AIAA Cape Canaveral Virtual Networking Event

Join us on Thursday, Nov. 19 for a virtual networking event! Held on Zoom, you’ll have the chance to learn more about different career opportunities available on the Space Coast. Throughout the evening, you’ll hear from two distinguished members of our community and then participants will be placed into breakout sessions for a chance to learn more about other members within our section.

    • Keynote Speaker: Lynda Weatherman, Economic Development Commission President & CEO
      • Lynda L. Weatherman currently serves as President and CEO of the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast. She is responsible for attracting new businesses and the retention of existing industry throughout the Space Coast. Previously, Weatherman has held leadership posts with the Florida Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Economic Analysis, Gainesville Chamber of Commerce, and Marion County Economic Development Agency. In 2010, she was selected to be a member of the Air Force Chief of Staff Civic Leader Program, serving as an advisor, key communicator, and advocate for the Air Force and providing ideas and feedback to the Secretary of the Air Force and Air Force Chief of Staff.
    • Jose Núñez, Kennedy Space Center’s University Partnerships & Small Satellite Capabilities Manager
      • As the University Partnerships & Small Satellite Capabilities Manager, Dr. Núñez is in charge of increasing collaborations between University Principal Investigators and KSC as well as leveraging infrastructure to increase University Small Sat development activities.
      • Over the course of his 31 year career at NASA, Dr. Nunez has performed in multiple leadership, engineering, project and mission management roles working on the International Space Station (ISS) Program with Government, Contractor, and University personnel across the U.S. and Internationals such as Brazil, Canada, Japan, Germany, Italy and Spain. 
      • He received his Associate in Science Degree from Miami-Dade Community College, Bachelor’s in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Florida (UF), and master’s and Doctorate in Industrial Engineering from the University of Central Florida (UCF).  He is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Florida, and has taught at UCF and the Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) as an adjunct professor.
