Event Description
Design of Experiments: Improved Experimental Methods in Aerospace Testing
When:
Feb 26, 2021 from 13:00 to 15:00 (ET)
Associated with
Ground Testing: Public Forum
share:
Overview:
Aerospace researchers with considerable subject-matter expertise but little formal training in the design of experiments can improve their research quality and productivity through learning statistically based experiment design. A formal approach to experiment design ensures empirical model adequacy, quantifies variability in predictions and identifies all possible independent variable interactions. Built in safeguards protect against influences of unwanted variability. Examples are drawn from specific studies that illustrate resource savings, quality improvements, and enhanced insights from well-designed experiments. The class structure features lectures with in-class problem solving using software. Students receive note sets containing all slides presented, exercises and solutions.
Course Logistics:
From 26 February 2020 – 16 April 2020 (8 Weeks, 8 Lectures, 16 Hours)
Every Friday at 1300-1500 Eastern Time
(all sessions will be recorded and available for replay; course notes will be available for download)
All students will receive an AIAA Certificate of Completion at the end of the course
