We're excited to share that the University of New Mexico Department of Mechanical Engineering is now accepting applications for the John J. Russell Endowed Professor of Practice, a full-time faculty position with an anticipated start date of August 2026. This prestigious role will provide leadership and mentorship in our hands-on Formula SAE (FSAE) program - a three-semester sequence where students design, build, and compete with formula-style racecars - as well as teach practice-focused mechanical engineering courses and build industry partnerships. The position honors the legacy of John J. Russell, who led UNM's FSAE program for over 30 years.
