    Hello AIAA Albuquerque:

    It's election time! The General Council Officers are open to write in campaign challenges.

    We are striving for more involvement from our local community members. For the first time in many years, we have opened up many volunteer positions on this years ballot! 

    Please note the Ex Officio (volunteer positions) are appointed by the General Council Officers so you can nominate yourself as a candidate for appointment.

    General Council Members

    a.       Chair shall be the chief executive officer of the Section. The Chair shall be a voting member of all committees, except for those noted in these bylaws. The Chair shall preside at all meetings and functions with outside agencies. The Chair shall make an annual report through the annual report process as defined in section 6.

    b.       Vice Chair shall act in the place of the Chair in any case of the Chair's inability to act. The Vice Chair shall transact, at the direction of the Chair, any business that could be within the power of the Chair to transact. Vice chair will become Chair.

    c.       Secretary shall maintain the minutes of the meetings of the Section and shall be the custodian of all Section records not specially assigned to others. The Secretary shall keep a full and correct list of the membership and addresses of the members. The Secretary shall submit a copy of the minutes of all meetings of the Section to the Regional Director and the applicable Staff Liaison.

    d.       Treasurer shall be responsible for the planning, budgeting, conduct and prompt reporting of all meetings and events, including, but not limited to locally held national AIAA functions, Section field trips, and meetings for social and other non-technical purposes. They shall direct those committees placed under him by the Chair and perform such other duties as directed by the Section Council.

    ExEx Officio  (Volunteer) Council Positions

    a.   

    Volunteer Officer Position Descriptions:
    The Communications Officer shall be responsible for the Section publication activities including, but
    not limited to, the periodic preparation and distribution of the Section newsletter and any other print or
    social media required to support Section activities. They shall direct those committees placed under him
    by the Chair and perform such other duties as directed by the Section Council.

    The Programs Officer shall be responsible for the planning, budgeting, conduct, and prompt reporting
    of all meetings and events, including, but not limited to locally held national AIAA functions, Section
    field trips, and meetings for social and other non-technical purposes. They shall direct those committees
    placed under him by the Chair and perform such other duties as directed by the Section Council.

    The Membership Officer shall be responsible for the planning, budgeting, conduct, and reporting of all
    Section activities which enlarge and advance its membership, and for assessing their desires and
    responsiveness concerning Section affairs.

    The Professional Development Officer shall be responsible for all matters concerning career relations and
    development of members, including such matters as pensions, certifications, ethics, manpower,
    employment, conditions of employment, and benefits.

    The Young Professionals Officer shall be responsible for the planning, budgeting, conduct and prompt
    reporting of all Section activities which promote professional development of AIAA members of age 35
    and below. They shall assist the Education Chair and Student Branch Advisor(s) in carrying out the
    Section responsibility for student branches assigned to it by National Headquarters of AIAA, including
    providing such branches with aid and guidance.

    The Community Engagement Officer shall be responsible for increasing awareness within the AIAA
    community of the importance of engagement and support local section and student branch
    activities that are focused on outreach and interaction.
