Advanced Thermal Mapping for Gas Turbines of the Future

As the move towards a hydrogen economy becomes more prominent, SCS aims to be at the forefront of helping achieve Net Zero in the gas turbine industry. The transition from fossil fuels to hydrogen-powered engines will require the redesign of gas turbines and SCS' technology will provide this data much faster than any other technology accelerating the market entry of new engines. The novel thermal history technology revolves around three pillars – the smart material, unique instrumentation, and the digitization using robotics – which enables high-definition temperature mapping with thousands of data points.

    Speaker Biographies:

    Jӧrg Feist

Jörg is responsible for general management at Sensor Coating Systems. Jörg co-founded SCS and transitioned the technology from a university setting to a profitable company.

Jörg has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, a master’s degree in physics and worked on nuclear fusion, with over 75 published scientific articles, conference papers and patents mostly on luminescence sensing.

    Silvia Araguas Rodriguez

Silvia leads the technical development of all technical aspects at Sensor Coating Systems, including the suite of smart Thermal History Technology materials and their implementation towards thermal mapping.

Silvia has a background in Materials Engineering with an MSc in Nanotechnology from University College London and a PhD on Thermal History Paints from Imperial College London.
