Associated with  Greater Huntsville Section

Please join the AIAA Greater Huntsville Section for a professional development seminar on “In Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU) Technology Development.”  The seminar will take place on Wednesday, April 14th from 1 PM to 3 PM via Zoom. With NASA’s planned return to the moon through the Artemis program, in situ resource utilization capabilities will allow for emplacement of sustainable infrastructure on the lunar surface and preparation for human missions to Mars.  Panelists will offer their perspectives on planetary surface resources, technologies to extract and process resources from regolith, and current and historical activities in the ISRU field.  Speakers include:

  • Dr. Edwin Ethridge, former senior materials scientist at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center and founder and senior scientist at Space Resources Extraction Technology
  • Dr. Jennifer Edmunson, planetary geologist and project manager for MMPACT (Moon to Mars Planetary Autonomous Construction Technology) project at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center
  • Dr. Peter Curreri, senior member of Microgravity Materials Science Team at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center, formerly mission scientist for three SpaceLab missions and MSFC Project Scientist for ISRU
