AIAA Birthday Celebration

When:  Jan 31, 2021
Associated with  Greater Huntsville Section
Fellow Section Members,

January 31 will mark the 58th anniversary of the founding of AIAA.  The Greater Huntsville Section has traditionally celebrated AIAA’s birthday with an in-person dinner gathering and social.  Due to the pandemic, however, we will celebrate AIAA’s founding in a different yet, hopefully, just as fun manner this year.

We are asking members to send us their favorite memories of their time in AIAA.  These can be stories of how AIAA benefitted you in your career, the friends you have made, the mentors you have had or those you have mentored, a particularly memorable or enjoyable activity or something funny or embarrassing that may have happened during your AIAA membership career.  The memories may also include pictures. Feel free to share anything about your involvement in AIAA that is meaningful or memorable to you.

The section’s leadership will select one or more of these stories as the “winner”. The winner will receive a free birthday cake delivered to his or her home, courtesy of the Greater Huntsville Section.  All entries will be consolidated into an article for the section newsletter so that we may preserve them and share our collective stories with others.

The contest rules are simple. Please complete and return this Story Record (B-Day_Story_Record_2021.docx) to distribution@hsv-aiaa.org no later than 28 January 2021.  Feel free to submit more than one story if you can’t decide which memory to choose! But please complete a separate record for each story you submit.

The winning entries will be announced on AIAA’s birthday on 31 January 2021 with the birthday cake prizes delivered at a later date.

We look forward to hearing about and sharing your AIAA experiences.  Tell us your story! We ARE the AIAA Greater Huntsville Section!
