November Luncheon celebrating Veterans Day - Colonel (Retd) Daron Drown

On occasion of Veterans Day, the GHS has been inviting Veterans to speak at our November Luncheon for last few years. You are cordially invited to the November Luncheon (purchase of lunch is not required to attend) featuring guest speaker Colonel (retired) Daron Drown who will be giving a talk titled Nate Saint's Hovering Buckets: Aerodynamics in the Amazon.

Mr. Drown's will talk about the fascinating story of Nate Saint, inventive bush pilot and American missionary to Ecuador in the 1950s, who perfected the technique of delivering and retrieving objects from a fixed point on the ground using an orbiting aircraft and tether.Check this video to read more about this technique

About the Speaker:
Colonel (retired) Daron Drown is a Program Manager at INTUITIVE Research and Technology Corporation, having recently completed a 22-year Air Force career as a Test Pilot, Program Manager, and Systems Engineer.

A distinguished graduate of the Air Force Test Pilot School, Daron evaluated fighter aircraft weapons, sensors, counter-measures, electronic warfare systems, propulsion, and life support systems. Daron’s last tour in uniform was at the Missile Defense Agency, where he served as the Director of Test Planning and Design, leading strategic planning for MDA’s $1B/year test program.

Daron grew up in Mexico, Honduras, California, and North Carolina, and has engineering degrees from the United States Air Force Academy, Michigan State University, and the Air Force Institute of Technology.
