Astronomy Day at Von Braun Astronomical Society, located in Monte Sano State Park, is part of a nationwide series of Astronomy Day events promoted by the Astronomy League, a network of astronomy clubs throughout the United States.

There will be planned activities between 1-5 pm - Solar Viewing, hands-on activities, mini-planetarium shows, comets, meteorites, rockets ! Cool telescopes as door prizes! And, much more ! At 7 pm, Dr. Martin C. Weisskopf and Dr. Jessica Gaskin will present a lecture on "The Past, Present and Future of Astrophysics: Chandra, IXPE, and Lynx"

Our Section in partnership will once again staff a recruiting and display table at the annual Astronomy Day at Von Braun Astronomical Society (VBAS). We’re looking forward to spreading the AIAA message within the Huntsville community while enjoying viewing through the telescopes and attending free planetarium shows.

Event is free to attend and open for all. At the park's entrance, a fee is normally charged unless you tell them that you are going to a VBAS event!
