The AIAA Greater Huntsville Section will continue our monthly professional lecture series with a virtual talk from Josef Reinke, Director of Blue Origin's Club for the Future on Thursday, December 16th at 12 PM CT.  Club for the Future is a foundation whose mission is to inspire future generations to pursue careers in STEM and to help invent the future of life in space. The Club and its collaborators are doing this through Postcards to Space, space-focused curriculum, and access to space on Blue Origin’s rockets. Josef’s passion for technology and educational equity should inspire you to find ways to give back to tomorrow’s scientists and engineers.

About our speaker:

Josef Reinke serves as Director for Club for the Future, Blue Origin’s private foundation. His leadership ensures programs meet the Club’s mission to inspire K-12 students to pursue careers in STEM and help future generations to invent the future of life in space.  As a self-proclaimed dork for all things tech and equity and opportunity he’s dedicated his career to making STEM education accessible to all communities.

Before joining Club for the Future, Josef was part of the Microsoft Education Hacking STEM team that aimed to democratize and modernize STEM education through low-cost sensors, micro-controllers, and live data. His team won the Microsoft Hack for Good in 2018 for organizing 250 educators from across the globe and pairing them with engineers to hack their own lesson plans. While at Microsoft, he worked with UNESCO and the Ministry of Education in Senegal to integrate 21st century skills into classrooms across Northwest Africa.

Previously Josef served as a Board Member for Engineers Without Borders’ New York Professional Chapter. There he focused on marketing efforts and community building while running his own creative agency.

In his spare time Josef enjoys building furniture, golf, Star Wars, and spending as much time as possible with his two best friends: his wife and their two-year-old son.
