AIAA is trying something new for SciTech 2021: "watch parties"

Our section has chosen to participate via a set of sessions that it feels would be of interest to many in our section. It is offering the chance for you to view them as part of a watch party, even if you are not registered for the conference. The sessions are:

CFD2030-01: CFD2030 Grand Challenge Problems for Numerical Simulation in Aerospace Engineering
CFD2030-02: CFD2030 Grand Challenge Problem Panel Discussion The sessions occur back-to-back on Thursday January 14, from 1:00-2:15pm and from 2:30-3:45pm. Zoom information is provided below. The following is a broad overview: AIAA SciTech 2021 is holding 2 sessions related to CFD Vision 2030. The CFD Vision 2030 study lays out a path toward achieving revolutionary capabilities in computational aerosciences. It promotes a community of practice engaged in developing methods, models, physical experiments, software, and hardware for revolutionary advances in computational simulation technologies for analysis, design, certification, and qualification of aerospace systems. Part of the effort includes "grand challenge" problems, which are the focus of these SciTech sessions. Details regarding the CFD Vision 2030 can be found in a NASA report: NASA/CR-2014-218178. The sessions occur back-to-back on Thursday January 14, from 1:00-2:15pm and from 2:30-3:45pm. The first CFD2030 session includes: A Grand Challenge for the Advancement of Numerical Prediction of High Lift Aerodynamics (Slotnick and Mavriplis) CFD 2030 Grand Challenge: CFD-in-the-Loop Monte Carlo Flight Simulation for Space Vehicle Design (Schuster) Vision 2030 Aircraft Propulsion Grand Challenge Problem: Full-engine CFD Simulations with High Geometric Fidelity and Physics Accuracy (Anand et al) The second CFD2030 session is a grand challenge problem panel discussion.
