2022-2023 ENGINEER OF THE YEAR NOMINATION DEADLINE EXTENDED

We are still looking for nominations for the 2022-2023 Engineer of the Year (EOY) award, which are required by October 10th, 2022. Through this award, one member of the AIAA HRS is recognized each year for distinguishing herself or himself in the aerospace engineering practice.

Please note that this is NOT a “lifetime achievement” award but rather emphasizes recent (~2 years) accomplishments. There will typically be a single, significant, and important invention, concept, or approach that was developed by the nominee. When considering potential nominees, consider the following factors:

  • Recent Scientific/Technical Contribution(s) to the Aerospace Community
  • Impact and Significance of the Scientific/Technical Contribution(s) to the Aerospace Community
  • Quality of endorsements from references
  • AIAA Service
  • Not a member of the AIAA HRS Council

The winner of the award will deliver the annual Laurence D. Leavitt Lecture, hosted by the AIAA HRS during National Engineers Week. They also become the HRS nominee for the Peninsula Engineering Council (PEC) Engineer of the Year Award and will be the HRS entry into the AIAA Regional and National I EOY competition.

 Necessary forms:

Nomination packages must be submitted to Richard White via email at rwhite@vigyan.com by October 10th, 2022.

Do you know someone who fits the above criteria? Please consider nominating them for this award!
