AIAA HRS nominations for the 2022-2023 "Engineer-of- the-Year" (EOY) award are due no later than September 15, 2022. Through this award, one member of the AIAA HRS is recognized each year for distinguishing herself or himself in aerospace engineering practice. The nominee will have made recent (within the past two years) and significant contributions to the art and science of aerospace engineering that are worthy of recognition; be an AIAA member; and not be a member of the AIAA HRS Council. The winner of the award will deliver the annual Laurence D. Leavitt Lecture, hosted by AIAA HRS during National Engineers Week. They also become the HRS nominee for the Peninsula Engineering Council (PEC) Engineer of the Year Award and will be the HRS entry into the AIAA Regional and National I EOY competition.
Please note that this is NOT a “lifetime achievement” award (we have other avenues for that), but emphasizes recent (~ 2 years) experience and accomplishments. There will typically be a single, significant, and important invention/concept/approach that was developed by the nominee.

Nomination form is attached here. The scoring rubric that National uses is attached . This should help you understand what goes into writing a good, strong nomination package, including the recommendation letters. Nominations must be received by September 15, 2022. Please send nomination packages to Richard White (email: rwhite@vigyan.com; phone 757-291-3410).
