Does NORAD Still Matter?

When:  Apr 15, 2021 from 19:00 to 20:00 (ET)
Associated with  Mid-Atlantic Section
Please join AIAA Niagara Frontiers Section this month when Maj Gen Jack “J.L.” Briggs, U.S. Air Force (retired), gives us an inside look at the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), the combined U.S. and Canadian military organization responsible for protecting both countries from air and space threats.  Beginning with an overview of how NORAD came about, Gen Briggs will take us through how it works today, in theory and practice, and how twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year, U.S. and Canadian airmen work together to keep North America secure.

A thirty-one year Air Force veteran, Gen Briggs’ last three assignments all involved NORAD, including a two year tour in Winnipeg as the Deputy Commander, Canadian NORAD Region, and Deputy Commander for Operations, 1 Canadian Air Division.  He has over three thousand flying hours in fighter aircraft and is a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross with valor and seven Air Medals.

Pre-registration is required.  Use this link to register and receive your invitation to attend on the 15th:
