The National Capital Section of the AIAA 2021 Future City Special Award for the best use of Aerospace Technology need 2 Judges, via Zoom.
The evaluation criteria for will be supplied by the AIAA NCS. You will be judging middle school student teams that qualified at the National Level.
Special Award Virtual Judging:
Date: Saturday, March 13, 2021
Time: 10:30am-4:00pm (eastern, US)
Note: includes a lunch break!
Location: Judging will take place via the Zoom platform. Each judge panel will be assigned a virtual judging room where they will stay all day, and teams will rotate through at their assigned times. Future City will provide a room monitor who will allow the appropriate team members in the room and keep track of time, so all your judges need to worry about is judging!
Please note: each judging room will be recorded the entire day for legal reasons, to protect both your organization and DiscoverE.
What you need to provide: Two or three judges who will meet with teams of students for 7-minute conversations
Winners: As in past years, we will ask judges to rank the top 5 teams they feel deserve their Special Award and provide a reason why (for each). We will provide an (optional) note-taking document for judges to use (online this year, obviously) as well as a ranking form for judges to submit their choices.
Information Session: On Thursday, March 4th at 1:00pm (eastern) via Zoom, Future City will hold a half-hour session to answer any questions your judges may have. Given the new virtual format this year, attendance is recommended, but not mandatory. The session will be recorded and shared afterwards.
