NSBE-AIAA Educator Aerospace Informational - Teacher Resources

  • 1.  NSBE-AIAA Educator Aerospace Informational - Teacher Resources

    Posted 10 Dec, 2020 20:10

Join us for a dynamic informational session between NSBE and AIAA New England Section to learn about regional and national opportunities to plant seeds of aerospace industry interest through drone contests and educator grants / awards created to financially support our mission.

Our goal is to equip members of all generations with tools to support innovating aerospace solutions throughout their lifetime, which hinges upon are early educators having access and resources to game-changing technology and tools that ignite interest in the aerospace industry.

    Agenda:

    • Introduce both organizations
    • Discuss our New England Section goals of:
      • Providing ten $250 grants to K-12 STEM Educator Associates [free AIAA membership grade]
      • Getting STEM high school students involved with our Aerospace Robotics Competition.  We will provide each 3-4 member team with a Tello mini-drone to be flown under the control of the team's school leader. We will provide mentors. The competition is mostly about learning how to work together to solve engineering problems - in this case autonomously controlling the drone to perform preset tasks.
      • Increasing the diversity of our membership
      • Adding an NSBE liaison to our council which meets monthly.
      • Introduce AIAA Foundation activities of $500 grants and award competition.  The Foundation is a national subset of the AIAA and not directly related to the sections such as ours
    • Plan ahead

     Hope to see you there!
