    NW FL section Members,

    Prof. Sönke Johnsen from Duke University, a collaborator with AFRL's Bio-Inspired research team, will be presenting a tech talk this Thursday, 31 March from 10-11 AM CT on "Hide and seek in the dark: biomimetic insights from how deep-sea fish optimize vision and camouflage in dim attenuating media".  Dr Johnsen is the author of The Optics of Life, and a co-author of Visual Ecology and led the investigation that found the giant squid in the Gulf a couple years ago:
