    The Doolittle Institute STEM Program seeks volunteers of any expertise to strengthen the next generation of scientists, and engineers enrolled in our FIRST® programs. Students of all ages will benefit tremendously from the time you spend broadening their education. The 2022-2023 FIRST® season will have both virtual and in-person opportunities, and they're looking for: 

     
    FIRST Tech Challenge is looking for volunteers for our 28 January 2023 FTC League Championship at Northwood Elementary, Crestview.  

    - 6 judges for virtual judging on 23rd & 24th January from 3-5 PM to determine the Think, Control, Design, Innovate, Connect and Motivate Awards from interview knowledge and an engineering portfolio review submitted by each team of 7th-12th grade students. Judges will meet on the 26th 2-4 PM for initial deliberations with final determination after watching live matches in Crestview on the 28th of January 2023. 

    - Referees, Lead Queuer, Scorekeeper, Field Resetters, Floaters, Pit Runners, Practice Field Attendant/Resetter

    FIRST LEGO League Challenge is looking for volunteers for our 25 February 2023 Regional Championship at Niceville High School. 

    - 8 – 12 judges to interview and observe presentations by teams of 4th-8th grade students. Judge panels will utilize standard rubrics to score teams. 

    - 4 referees to observe team robot game matches, identify rule violations and assess fields for the scoring of matches. 

    - Various other roles available such as scorekeeper, field reset, and queuing assistants.
