(AIAA-RMS) Dream Chaser

Sierra Nevada Corporation’s (SNC) Space Systems of Louisville, Colo., is leading the design and development of the Dream Chaser Space System part of NASA’s Commercial Resupply Services (CRS) 2 Program with the goal of providing safe, reliable, and cost effective cargo resupply of the International Space Station. Dream Chaser has the unique capability to return cargo including delicate experiments safely to Earth. SNC has won NASA approval to begin full-scale production of its Dream Chaser cargo spacecraft scheduled to make its first flight in about two years. SNC announced that after CRS2 Integrated Review 4 which it successfully completed Dec. 18, 2018 the company is now cleared to move ahead into assembly of the vehicle.
Dr. Bain will present some background on Sierra Nevada Corp. and the Dream Chaser program interspersed with stories from a varied aerospace career. Attendees will have the opportunity to view and photograph the Dream Chaser flight test vehicle.
