Join us to listen to the story of VH-MDX. A gripping tale of adventure and mystery. Departing Proserpine for Bankstown, the aircraft faced unforeseen challenges as it veered over 20 nautical miles off course after Taree. Amidst nightfall and icy conditions, the pilot reported instrument failures and encountered dense clouds. As air traffic control monitored closely, the aircraft’s descent accelerated, culminating in a chilling final transmission: “five thousand.” For over thirty years, VH-MDX and its five occupants have remained hidden in the rugged Barrington ranges, their fate shrouded in uncertainty and intrigue.
The mystery will be presented by guest speaker Glen Horrocks, Deputy Unit Commander NSW SES Bush Search and Rescue Unit (BSAR) on November 7th from 6pm - 7.30 pm.
