Wichita Section is hosting the 2020 Student Paper Conference (SPC) for AIAA Region V on April 1-3.
I am the 2020 Region V SPC chair and are looking for chairpersons for the following SPC subcommittees. We have information from the conference we hosted 5 years ago that can be used as guides.
1. Venue and Menu - Responsible for coordinating with the venue and the cater. I have started this, but would like someone to take over.
2. Judging - Responsible for scheduling/coordinating judges for the student papers as well as the judges for the oral presentations. Student paper judges come from the AIAA members in Region V and coordination is done electronically. Oral presentation judges will have to be onsite during the judging times. At conclusion of judging on April 3, judged chair responsible to compile the scores to determine presentation rankings.
3. Tours - Responsible to coordinate the tours (factory, institutional and educational) including coordinate with tour facilities and tour attendees as some have citizenship requirements.
4. Sponsorship - Responsible to solicit companies for financial sponsorship. We already have one major sponsor. Includes coordinating any activities that sponsors may want to do at the conference.
5. Budget - Gather budget estimates (income and expenses) and make suggests as necessary to maintain the budget. As income and expenses become firm, update the budget.
6. Schedule and Programs - Build and maintain the conference schedule for all the activities (presentations, tours, etc.). Design the conference brochure to be handed out during registration that includes schedules and sponsors.
7. Registration/Check-in - Responsible for registration/check-in Wednesday evening. Chair: WSU AIAA Student Chapter (Colton Wagner Student Chapter Chair)
8. Speaker: Banquet speaker selection. Chair: WSU AIAA Student Chapter (Colton Wagner Student Chapter Chair)
