The AIAA New England Section is organizing an expert webinar session. Come and listen to the expert presentation about the history of the world's most successful engine program the CFM56 which grew to become the CFM LEAP engine.
    • The CFM56 was the first commercial engine program developed by a US-French collaboration, cleared by the Nixon-Pompidou summit in 1971
    • From a program that was about to be scrapped to becoming the world's most successful engine program the journey was long and hard.
    • This program achieved significant advances in multiple technological areas including and grew to become the CFM Leap engine, powering the Boeing 737max exclusively and the Airbus a320 as one of the engine options.
