    Responsibilities

    Our Thermal Analysis and Control team is a high performing group executing challenging tasks for thermal and fluids design, analysis and test support of the Space Launch System (SLS).

    Working independently and in an integrated, collaborative team, your responsibilities would include:

    • Thermal modeling, analysis, and documentation of the integrated launch vehicle addressing structural temperature predictions for element interfaces, compartment environment definition, multi-element interaction, etc.
    • Problem resolutions for test activities such as green run, wet dress rehearsal, etc.
    • Structures and Environments (STE) Thermal Sub-Discipline support for multiple configurations Cross-Program thermal interface and shared volume thermal engineering.

    Qualifications

     

    Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited university is required. Typically, educational requirements are the equivalent of a Masters with at least 18 years of experience, or BS with at least 20 years of experience.

    Required skills and experience:

    • At least 10 years of relevant experience in the field of launch vehicle thermal analyses.
    • Recognized expert in thermal modeling and analysis for aerospace applications is required.
    • Thermal/structural and thermal protection system analyses experience.
    • Technical writing and presentation capabilities.
    • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
    • Highly desired skills and experience:
    • Experience with AutoCAD/Thermal Desktop.
    • Prior experience with NASA or its contractors desirable.
    • Familiar with NASA or DoD standards and specifications.
