    Thanks, Subhayu

    Sensors Engineer

    Responsibilities

      • Deliver summaries of systems engineering, integration and analysis for the Flight Termination System (FTS) and Radio Frequency (RF) communication, telemetry and tracking systems in the avionics domain across through the Critical Design Review (CDR) for Upper Stage (EUS) development.
      • Deliver summaries of data analysis for validating Test Requirements in Lab/Factory Environments through use of the Program Interface Program Control List (IPCL) for measurements for Block 1 and Block 1B rocket configurations.
      • Deliver summaries of trade-off evaluations of different types of Sensor components (COTS sensors i.e. HFAs, DC LFAs, Piezoelectric Transducers, Strain Gauge, Microphones, RTDs, Thermocouples, etc.) to optimize system performance.
      • Deliver summaries of requirement validation of sensor positions/flushness for measurement owners in Creo and other 3D modelling tools.
      • Deliver summaries of data acquisition programing for setting spans/offsets for maximum measurement resolution whiledeliver summaries of trade-off evaluations of different types of Sensor components (COTS sensors i.e. HFAs, DC LFAs, Piezoelectric Transducers, Strain Gauge, Microphones, RTDs, Thermocouples, etc.) to optimize system performance.minimizing possible data clipping due to sensor variability.
      • develop and deliver python code in support of functional testing at Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) and develop Matlab models for format generator codes.
      • provide support for the development of requirements and verification artifacts through Critical Design Review

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills Experience):

    • This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility. Access to the facility requires a background investigation by U.S. Government authorities.
    • This is a sensitive / safety sensitive position and is subject to NASA random drug and alcohol testing. Must be able to pass physical examination (visual acuity, color perception, respiratory, and etc.) to meet production certification and safety requirements.
    • Bachelors of Science degree or higher
    • Experience integrating and managing electrical / avionics hardware or subsystems

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills Experience):

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering preferred
    • Knowledge of space based IEEE, ANSI, NASA and SLS requirements
    • Experience with Space or Space Launch Systems (SLS) Electrical System Domain
    • Experience working in a diverse team including software, computer and electrical engineers

    Typical Education / Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    Avionics Engineer EUS

    Responsibilities

perform systems engineering, integration and analysis for the Flight Termination System (FTS) and Radio Frequency (RF) communication, telemetry and tracking systems in the avionics domain across through the Critical Design Review (CDR) for Upper Stage (EUS) development.

    • Static (worst case) and dynamics (using System Tool Kit from Analytical Graphics Inc.) RF link analyses to verify link margin.
    • Trade-offs evaluation between RF components (antennas, LNA, couplers, dividers/combiners, etc.) to optimize system performance.
    • Antenna-related analyses (polarization mismatched loss, axial ratio, etc.)
    • Bent-pin analysis for the FTS.
    • Modeling and simulation of EUS combined radiating pattern.
    • Co-site RF interference analysis and Co-site coupling loss modeling and simulation.
