Portia Banerjee is a Research Engineer at NASA Ames Research Center [KBR], working with the Intelligent Systems Division. Post PhD completion in 2018, she have been involved with several NASA projects related to emerging aviation systems, characterizing risk and safety in unmanned aviation and other autonomous systems. With an expertise in statistical signal processing and reliability analysis, she has over eight years of experience in health monitoring and fault management of avionic structures and systems. Her research outcomes continues to generate several publications and presentations in AIAA conferences, journals and other avenues. She leads sub-project within one of NASA Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate funded project in developing system-health-informed autonomous decision-making critical for any mission assurance. She has received the NASA Ames Honor Award in 2021 for her contribution in the field of unmanned aviation safety.
She serves as session organizer, chair, executive committee member and reviewer at multiple organizations including PHM society, AIAA, IEEE and ASME.
