The 39th Annual Central Coast STEM Expo is being held Friday and Saturday, 3-4 May 2024, at Lompoc High School at 515 W. College Ave., Lompoc, CA 93436, in the gymnasium and associated patio areas. (See attached flyer)
I am once again looking for volunteers to help at the Expo. A science, math, or engineering degree is not required to volunteer. We will be judging 3rd -10th grade children's projects dealing with math and science related subjects.
Set-up support from 2:15 pm – 6:00 pm Friday
Judging support from 4:30 - 8:00 pm Friday
Judging support from 7:30 am - 2:30 pm Saturday
Awards placement support 2:30 – 5:00 pm, Saturday
Event tear-down support 8:00 – 9:00 pm Saturday.
If you are uncomfortable judging, there are some non-judging duties with varying degrees of involvement available as well.
This is a great way to spend a few hours doing some worthy community service work and just having fun with the future leaders of our community! This work will also qualify for the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) Continuing Learning Hours as well as awards and EPR/OPR fodder. We typically get some pizza Friday night and on Saturday for the volunteers and have a lot of fun working as a team. I've had a lot of previous volunteers say how rewarding the experience had been!

We ask for a personal email address because we will using a web-based judging form, that will require you to access your email during the event (e.g. on your laptop, tablet or cell phone) I will need to send you website information.
