Hey Y'all,  I'm the current Career Technical Education (CTE) Aviation Teacher at Dubiski Career High School... for a couple more days at least.   I've accepted the Director of Training position in the Operations Section at the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Headquarters here in Dallas.

This leaves my program and my school in a bit of a dilemma, and I've agreed to do everything I can to find my replacement!

The  position is responsible for 9th - 12th grade students in the aviation program (Currently about 57 kids over the 4 classes). Its a A/B Alternating Day block schedule (one block is 90 minutes)  9th grade is a single block class, 10th, 11th, 12th are double blocked and one block is planning period.   The program currently uses the AOPA's "You Can Fly" curriculum in the 9th & 10th grade, which is an intro to Aerospace and aviation including history, aircraft and systems, careers, etc. The 11th/12th attend unpaid internships at CAF alternating afternoons learning about tools and their uses, hands on skills helping with various projects including assisting in the archives, basic woodworking, building pedal planes and restoring a 1946 J-3 Piper Cub.  (I've been pushing more toward Maintenance/Engineering)

The best candidate should have a good background in aviation (Maintenance, flight or both) and have a passion for teaching kids about aviation.
CTE Teachers at Dubiski start around $55K.  A Degree is preferred, but in CTE programs at Dubiski you can be hired under the District of Innovation program with 5 to 10 years of experience in the field  (Commercial Pilot, Flight Instructor, A&P Mechanic, Aircraft manufacturing/Engineering)  Its perfect for someone that's retired and wants to "pay it forward" in the world of aviation and still have summers off to go to EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh!!!

If you know anyone that would be interested please have them contact me,  My phone is very particular about answering phone calls (spam filter) you can leave a voice message or the best thing to do is send a text first and I can call you back. 817.905-five five 32  (trying to fool the web scanners)

Thanks for hanging in and reading all this
