The University of Southampton has two open positions for full professor.
One is targeted to be in the area the mechanics of structural materials the other is intended to be in the area of aerospace structures. The details are available at:
The first search is cast quite broadly, with no particular preference for material types or structural application area. The second is specifically intended for someone with a background in aerospace or a desire to apply their structural mechanics expertise to aerospace applications

In particular, we have a commitment to remain in the world's top 30 universities for high performance computing provision and we host the UK's National Infrastructure Laboratory, as well as a wide range of facilities for materials characterization and testing. The research funding position in the UK in these areas is looking to be very attractive over the next few years.
