Survivability Technical Committee

Hi SURTC,

Thank you to the group that was able to attend the Mid Year SURTC meeting on Tuesday, I appreciate the support.  Attached you will find two things:  The charts that were briefed at the meeting and a rules and bylaws document.

There are a couple of things I wanted to highlight from the meeting. 

1. Succession Planning.  If you are a Chair, please make sure you have a person or persons that you are "training" to be able to  fill your role when you rotate out.  For new members.  Make sure you are volunteering for roles on the TC.  There is a lot of opportunities.
2. November Election Cycle.  The Vice Chair and Secretary positions will be vacant in May of 2024.  With me rotating out of the Chair, Adam Goss will be taking over and he needs help.  The rules and bylaws document has a summary of tasks at each position.   We need at least two volunteers for these positions.  We will hold an election in the November, but we need volunteers now.  If Adam and I don't hear from people, we will be reaching out to encourage people to volunteer directly. 
3. Publications:  Mark Robeson has done a tremendous job over the last couple of years putting together our Year in Review article.  With that said 2023 will be his last year at this position and will be rotating out of the role.  This is another important spot that will need to be filled and we would like it filled to learn from Mark this year.  Please reach out to Mark with question about the role.  
4. The SURTC would also like to request that outgoing Chairs put together best practices for the person that will fill the spot after you leave.  Ideally, these items should be communicated in real time, but it never hurts to have them documented.
