Hey Everyone,
Thank you for all the initial follow up. With all of the initial great work started, I would like to keep the conversation going because there is still work to be done.
First, I will again post this same message to our google group. If for some reason you don't get the Survivability Technical Committee message directly from Engage, let me know. I would like to figure out how to work through those issues.
Action items follow up.
Conference committee: Josh is off to a quick start preparing the call for papers for next year. Jobin, Beldon, Carey and Kevin have all asked to participate in the conference committee. Josh is going to be in a 1 year seat for the conferences which will cover SCITECH 2024 and DEFENSE 2024 duties. Josh needs a Deputy, if one of you is interested in that role speak up. Requirements - Since you will be rotating into the chair role in 2024, I would like you to have a 2 year commitment to the chair role.
Education: Teddy - There was lots of information in the first round of emails. I am hoping you will start a discussion with the TC about developing some of the ideas. Uploaded on Engage is a survivability 101 brief, which can be a good start. Remember there is TAD funding we can request for an outreach activity. Carey Price is interested in this committee as well. Carrell, Prof Ball, Bart Huffman have some ideas for this. Please work on this discussion and defining a deputy. If anyone else is interested please let Teddy and myself know.
Awards: Keane - This is an important year. We need to have 3 Survivability Award nominees. We should have 2 carryovers. We will need a 3rd. The sooner we start this activity the better. Again we will need a deputy for the awards chair. Brandon is going to be an advisor but we will need hands-on help.
Publications: Mark needs a deputy.
As part of the new succession plan: We have 3 new members that will be officially starting in May: Major Hansen, Dominic Pena, and Brian Bixlar. There are some open Deputy spots available, please choose a subcommittee availability to align yourself with.
My ask of you. Please keep myself and Adam Goss up to date on the status of these actions. If you have meetings or discussion, you can make them public to allow others on the committee to join.
That's it for now. I will try to keep up with these email chains so we don't lose focus.
