Metallic Material Properties Development and Standardization (MMPDS) is recognized by aerospace regulatory agencies around the world as the primary government approved source for statistically valid metallic material and joining system allowables for conventionally produced metal alloys. The Handbook documents rigorous standards and processes for data generation and statistical analysis ensuring that published material allowables have a strong pedigree. MMPDS, Volume I A-/B-Basis values are accepted without further showing for certification of airframe metallic material and joining systems. MMPDS, Volume II is now available, documenting a data generation and analysis framework covering process intensive materials, including, but not limited to, additively manufactured (AM) metals. The General Coordination Committee recently approved two new plate alloys for Volume I and the first additively manufactured alloy for Volume II.
