Bio

Dr. Angela Campbell has been an Aerospace Engineer at the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center since 2015. Primarily, Dr. Campbell conducts research on technology and training solutions for commercial aircraft that mitigate risks that occur during the approach and landing phase of flight. The goal of this research is to reduce the number of accidents that happen at or near an airport such a runway overruns and loss-of-control in-flight. Her specialties include simulation, experiment design, and data analysis.

Prior to joining the FAA, Dr. Campbell completed her Ph.D. in aerospace engineering at Georgia Tech in December 2014. During that time, she also worked at NASA Glenn Research Center through a student fellowship program where she developed a method for analyzing the reliability of electric propulsion systems. In her free time, Dr. Campbell enjoys competitive swimming, disc golf, and traveling.
