Dear AMT Community,
Please see the note below from Chris Combs about a new initiative in AMT to recognize rising stars! Please note the short fuse (May 24th!) and send your nomination right away!
Regards,
Todd
AMT is currently working to organize a “Rising Stars in AMT” invited presentation session for SciTech ’22 with the goal of highlighting the diverse pipeline of up-and-coming talent in the AMT community while providing these early-career researchers with a platform to showcase their expertise. To this end, we are seeking nominations for speakers who are:
-PhD students near graduation or post-docs (at time of SciTech ’22)
-Conducting research related to aerodynamic measurement technology
-A member of a traditionally underrepresented group in aerospace engineering
To nominate a potential speaker, please send an email to Mark Gragston (mgragston@utsi.edu) with the name of the speaker and 1-2 sentences to note why they would be well-suited for this special session no later than May 24th, 2021.
Please indicate with nomination if conference attendance/registration costs may be a barrier to participation so that the selection committee can pursue possible avenues of assistance. After speakers are selected, a short 1-pg abstract will be required by the SciTech abstract deadline (June 1st) but this will likely be a presentation-only session.
Feel free to also email with questions and/or forward this solicitation to anyone else you think may be interested.
Thanks,
Chris
