Bio

Dr. Jarret Lafleur is an engineer and systems analyst in the Strike and Aerospace Systems Center at Sandia National Laboratories.  In this center and his prior assignment to the Homeland Security and Defense Systems Center, he has conducted research related to defense systems and multi-attribute decision analysis, spanning topics of system performance, cost, strategic risk, and security.  Dr. Lafleur is active with both AIAA and the CSIS Project on Nuclear Issues, and from 2016-2018 he served as Senior Technical Advisor on Nuclear Weapons Council matters to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear and Missile Defense Policy.

Dr. Lafleur earned his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2012 and also made engineering contributions during rotational assignments to the U.S. Naval Undersea Warfare Center, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, NASA White Sands Test Facility, and NASA Johnson Space Center.
