Airborne Directed Energy Systems: Public Forum  

Scope: The Airborne Directed Energy Systems Integration Committee seeks to identify and address the pacing technical challenges for developing, integrating and deploying High-Energy Laser (HEL) systems aboard aircraft. The committee conducts specific case studies designed to foster increased communication and collaboration across organizational and institutional barriers to solve these complex, multi-disciplinary challenges. Products include special conference sessions, technical papers, best practices, short courses, and other publications. The committee operates in partnership with the Directed Energy Professional Society, and its membership includes representatives from the U.S. Government, industry and academia with a broad range of relevant technical expertise.

CFD Vision 2030: Public Forum  

Scope: CFD Vision 2030 was established to promote a community of practice engaged in developing methods, models, physical experiments, software, and hardware for revolutionary advances in computational simulation technologies for analysis, design, certification, and qualification of aerospace systems. CFD Vision 2030 serves as the focal point for activities to achieve the 2030 Vision by leveraging and integrating enabling technologies such as high-performance computing, physical modeling, numerical methods, geometry/grids, validation quality experiments, multidisciplinary analysis and optimization, with quantified uncertainties. CFD Vision 2030 will communicate with other Committees to assure that the AIAA membership engages with their peers and external constituencies in shaping the future of simulation-based engineering.

Scope: The Unmanned Systems Committee (USPC) represents and serves the broad interests of the unmanned & robotic systems community, encompassing space (robotic), aerial (UAV), ground (UGV), surface water (USV), underwater (UUV), and other unmanned and robotic systems, their components, and their myriad applications. The committee’s scope of interest reaches across the spectrum of development and operations, including research, conceptualization, technologies, design, system and platform development, manufacture, integration, test, evaluation and other functions necessary for the fielding, operation and sustainment of these systems and their related components, along with their exploitation in military, civil, science and commercial applications. The committee promotes, sponsors, conducts and supports activities oriented at furthering the development and evolution of these systems and their resultant capabilities, as well as resolving issues that affect and impact them.
