Aerospace Advocate. Education Enthusiast. Webmaster.
Primarily, as a Flight Planning Engineer, I collaborate with stakeholders across the Moon to Mars enterprise and international partners to manage an integrated traffic and event plan (ITEP). ITEP is a tool to help guarantee that crew and cargo vehicles arrive and depart safely from Gateway (a space station that astronauts call home during extended lunar orbit stays and an enabling resource for Artemis and future mission capabilities), the lunar surface, and destinations beyond. The Moon to Mars enterprise comprises 6 programs: Space Launch System (SLS), Orion, Gateway, Exploration Ground Systems (EGS), EVA and Human Surface Mobility (EHP), and Human Landing Systems (HLS) programs. I create and maintain data solutions to facilitate discussions between these 6 programs on operational requirements and constraints to ensure science and other mission objectives are achieved.
Secondarily, I assess operational and technical requirements, which I then facilitate coordination to obtain necessary agreements for executing the flight plan. When the flight plan or on-orbit activities violate flight requirements, I recommend possible resolutions to ensure successful on-orbit missions. I love how this task fits my personality. I work to encourage integration between diverse stakeholders while pioneering creative solutions. The integration work also appeals to my insatiable desire to learn; working with many organizations exposes me to a variety of approaches, priorities, and philosophies in space operations management
