The judging has been finalized and we have some announcements to make. First, good job to all of the applicants. Second, there is a small change in the award distribution. Only one project was received for the 9th-12th grade category and so there will be no 2nd and 3rd place recipient for that grade range. The judges have decided to reallocate the award money for the unused prizes in the grade 9-12 category to the grade K-4, and 5-8 categories where there was an abundance of applicants. The judges had a tough time making a decision for the 2nd place awardee in the 5th - 8th grade category. Due to that and the large number of applicants in that grade category, we decided to call it a tie and recognize two 2nd place winners. We will also be giving $25 cash awards to 2 honorable mentions. One honorable mention for the K-4 category and one for the 5-8 categories. The honorable award winners will receive the same non-cash awards as the "place winners" with the exception of the paid for visit to the Great Lakes Science Center.
