Greetings and Happy New Year AIAA Twin Cities Section Members!
I hope this new year finds you and your families safe and well.
I know our Twin Cities Section has been a little quiet lately, but I do hope to turn that around. For now, there are some important announcements for our section members,
First - the Twin Cities section has adopted the overarching AIAA Bylaws. To view the bylaws please see the recent upload - AIAA Twin Cities Section bylaws in the Documents Library on our AIAA Twin Cities Section Engage site. You have an opportunity to review the bylaws and provide any issues or concerns. You may provide any feedback to me (kristen.gerzina@ngc.com) by February 1, 2021. The new bylaws reflect how our section has been operating in general.
Second, our section geography has expanded to include new section members. AIAA members of Canada and Mexico no longer belong to the International AIAA Region and now belong to Regions and Section centered in the US. Our Twin Cities section included all members in Minnesota, North and South Dakota, as well as three counties in Western Wisconsin that border the Twin Cities. Our section now includes the Canadian provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba, as well as the western region of Ontario. Welcome to our neighbors to the north and happy to have you as members of the AIAA Twin Cities section!
Finally congratulations to Twin Cities Section member, Dr. Vibhor Bageshwar, on becoming an AIAA Associate Fellow! The AIAA Associate Fellow ceremony will be Thursday afternoon (tomorrow) at 3 PM Central time as part of the AIAA SciTech Forum. However, this year the event is free to AIAA members, and if interested in attending you may register at the following link: https://www.aiaa.org/SciTech/program/recognition
Also congratulations to all of our section members who have celebrated AIAA anniversaries this past year!
