AIAA-IN is the overall Indiana Section's representation for AIAA. We focus on localized, accessible opportunities that are specific to Indiana itself.

Vice-Chair: The Chair's back-up and second in charge. The vice chair supports the Chair when the Chair is unavailable due to schedule conflicts. The Chair often is the top level lead who fills in gaps whenever needed (such as scheduling meetings, event planning) and the Vice-Chair will be the person the Chair leans on the most to ensure everything is going smoothly. It's a great segway to the Chair position itself. The Vice-Chair ensures delegation of tasking and actions needed are properly done and regularly checks in when needed to ensure operations run smoothly.

Secretary: The Secretary captures meeting minutes, writes the AIAA-IN newsletter, submits to AIAA data including event planning, yearly accomplishments, and publishes documentation developed onto the Indiana Section Engage Page Folder. The Secretary also coordinates with the Communication Officer on what should be advertised across all social media platforms. The Secretary also organizes the share drive of the AIAA-IN account.

Honors & Awards: The Honors/Awards Liaison coordinates with AIAA Honors and Awards Program to ensure recognition is made to the achievements of members who have contributed greatly to innovation and discoveries that make the world safer, more connected, accessible, and more prosperous. The role would include identifying members in the Indiana section who would be worthy of nomination for awards/honors as well as reviewing nominees to assist the H&A program in determining who will be honored. H&A Lead will be giving regular inquiries for nominees and trying to get more Indiana AIAA members nominated for awards! There are also judging requests where the H&A provides support by reviewing candidates to help with award scoring. Other members are available to help, of course - but H&A is the primary on that port of information.

Events Chair (IEEE Collab): The Events Chair helps plan and collaborate with IEEE (and other professional orgs) in forming various gatherings and events. The Executive board comes together to brainstorm sessions and provide recommendations and the Events Chair will be the person who ultimately manages the event. The Events Chair will be making reservations to event venues, making sure events go smoothly, and regularly communicates to AIAA-IN Exec Board of current status of upcoming events and raising concerns if there are issues so the team can find a solution together.

Young Professionals Chair: The Young Professionals Chair is the representative who connects directly with the Young Professionals Program. The YP Program is a branch of AIAA focused on the entry-level (<35 Years Old) members who may still be searching for mentorship, direction, and opportunities in their stage of their career. There are also technical committees that YPs may want to be connected to and the YP group has their own meetings which may include relevant information to pass onto the IN section. The YP helps provide the YP perspective and often finds the future generation of AIAA-IN Executive Board.

In the future, if we have more interested people and there are multiple inquiries for the same role, we can hold elections!

Thanks to everyone who have been asking great questions, we hope to continue building this great team!
