AIAA SciTech 2025 - CbA UQ Meeting

When:  Jan 6, 2025 from 18:00 to 19:00 (ET)

Update: The virtual option for this meeting has been moved to MS Teams and the original WebEx meeting has been canceled. An updated .ics file is now included at the end of this event announcement which includes the MS Teams meeting particulars.

Since our last meeting at AVIATION 2024 several months have passed and the AIAA CbA steering team has been working actively towards defining a community use case. We are not quite there yet but would like to shed a glimpse on the current status and continue our discussions on the topic of UQ focused on Certification by Analysis (CbA) with you.

For this we would like to invite all of you to join our meeting at the SciTech 2025 conference in Orlando on Monday 6th January 2025 from 6pm to 7pm ET (in the Celebration 11 room) with the tentative agenda below.

Attached to this end of this announcement is also a calendar appointment including a WebEx link to enable online participation for everyone who is not able to travel to Orlando. Please note, we will try our best to ensure that audio quality enables everyone online to listen to our meeting but cannot guarantee that an active participation is also possible.

Preliminary Agenda

6.00 – 6.10 Welcome and short review of previous activities

6.10 – 6.30 Current status of the planned CbA community activity

6.30 – 6.35 Next steps and envisioned timeline

6.35 – 7.00 Community feedback and open discussions

Because the topics of CbA and UQ are expanding so rapidly, we are doing our best to engage the entire community to the maximum extent possible. As a result, we know that there are likely activities ongoing in the community that could inject useful and compelling ideas into our efforts. To this end, if you, or someone in your organization, or someone you might know in the community is working on a related activity that can be shared with the broader community, we would like to hear from you. Getting an understanding of what is happening in the community and/or interesting to the community is an essential step to ensure that we develop a comprehensive plan and roadmap. Thanks for your thoughtful consideration.

Also, note that at the time of this posting, the SciTech 2025 Committee Meeting PDF document lists our meeting as the "Certification by Analysis Community of Interest" with the time being 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Our meeting will actually only last until 7:00 pm, but will indeed be held in the Celebration 11 room for in-person attendees as the program indicates.

If you have any comments or questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Regards,

Philipp Bekemeyer
