The ASME/AIAA Egg Drop competition is back at the Mariners’ Museum again! Build a device at home to test out your engineering skills on how to safely deliver a delicate payload to the ground from a roughly 2-story drop. Your objective is to design the lightest possible container that will prevent the egg from being cracked or smashed while landing as close as possible to a target at the bottom of the drop. We recommend that you build your egg drop devices in advance to bring to the event. We will supply the eggs. Prizes are given for the best scoring parachute and non-parachute entries as well as the most creative in each age category. All devices will be dropped off the side of the USS Monitor Replica (weather permitting) – rain location is indoors.
