The AIAA Mid-Atlantic section is looking for an individual to serve as Maryland Assistant State Captain for the 2020 Congressional Visit Day (CVD). For the past several years, a member of the National Capital Section has served as the Maryland State Captain and is looking to pass the reins to someone else. They have graciously agreed to train an Assistant Captain this year with the intent of fully transitioning that role over for 2021 and beyond.
The state captains will coordinate with the Region 1 Deputy Director for Public Policy and help coordinate the CVD activities, specifically identifying and encouraging participation from people within their state. The state captain and delegated team members from each state should reach out to the congressional offices to make CVD appointments. The ideal candidate will be passionate about setting new policy and will be interested in holding the position for several years and will assist in training their eventual successor.
