Hello Mid-Atlantic Section AIAA members!
We are happy to announce that revitalization of the section is underway. Currently, efforts are centered on the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel MD, however section wide events will be hosted in locations open to the public.
As a part of this revitalization effort, we are asking for nominations for Board member positions. Please email AIAA.midatlantic@gmail.com with your nominations for Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer. As per the bylaws, self-nominations will not be accepted. Elections will be held in two weeks via an online vote and we will also be asking everyone to ratify our new bylaws, which can be found on our website. If inclined, please review them at your earliest convenience. These bylaws are written by AIAA Headquarters and have been ratified across most of the country. If you have any questions, comments, concerns regarding the bylaws, please let us know.
Along with revitalizing section leadership, we are planning on hosting the annual Young Professionals, Students, and Educator Conference for Region I in November. If you are interested in attending the event, please go to the event page and fill out the interest form. We will be sending out information about registration later this summer but are looking to get an estimate on how many people would be interested in attending.
