  • Abstract Deadline Extended! 2019 Young Professionals, Students, and Educators Conference

     

    NEW UPDATE – The abstract deadline has been extended to October 25th!

     

    The Mid-Atlantic Section of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) is organizing the AIAA Region I Young Professionals, Students, and Educators (YPSE) Conference, to be held Friday, November 15, 2019 at the Kossiakoff Center on the campus of the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Maryland. Technical presentations in any area of interest to the aerospace community by Young Professionals (age 35 and under), Graduate, Undergraduate, High School Students and Educators are sought. Best presentation awards will be awarded in each category.

    Registration:

    Registration is now open. Please register at ypse19.eventbrite.com before November 1st, 2019. If you would like to present at the conference, please indicate this on your registration. We are accepting abstracts for 15 minute presentations in any aerospace related category. Please submit abstracts no later than October 25th. You can update your registration to include your abstract at any time prior to this deadline.

    How to Volunteer:

    We are looking for both judges and session chairs for this year's conference. You are welcome to volunteer for either or both positions and to come for only part of the day if you cannot attend the entire conference. There will be two morning sessions between 9 and 11:30 AM and two afternoon sessions between 1:30 and 4:30 PM. Instructions and schedules will be sent out before the conference. 

    Please follow the 2 steps below to let us know if you are interested in either or both positions:

    • Register for the conference at eventbrite.com There is a reduced registration fee of $35 for all volunteers to offset the cost of food for students.  Please indicate your preference for session chair or judge when you register.
    • Send an e-mail to midatlantic+YPSEJudging@gmail.com indicating the times you are available, any preference on technical disciplines for your assigned sessions, and your professional level (graduate student, young professional, professional). If volunteering to be a judge, also include years of experience beyond a bachelor's degree (e.g. under 1, 1-5, 5-10, 10-20, 20+).
