  • Engineering e-Mentors wanted for high school students!

Are you interested in promoting STEM and being a volunteer in that field?

Dan Caron, an educator from Gilford High School is looking for a Professional Engineers who are interested in mentoring high school students who aspired to be engineers.

    See the message below:
    -------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm writing to ask if you are available to eMentor engineering students this year.

This trimester, I have 15 Intro to Engineering students and next term, I'll have another 34 Aviation and Space Technology students who I would like to match up with eMentors.

Since 2001, over 300 students have been partnered with engineers, scientists and technologists from around the country. Many of these students are now engineers themselves or are employed in other related STEM fields.

My goal is to partner students with an adult who is currently working in a field the student is interested in pursuing after high school graduation. Students in both classes have a variety of interests and I'll need civil, mechanical, electrical, electronic, computer and chemical engineers. Many of you probably started in those areas and have since moved on to other engineering specialties.

Forty-nine students is the largest group I've ever had to work with so feel free to pass this information on to others who may be interested in participating. I'm attaching a copy of the program description for your reference.

Thank you for your interest in our programs. Have a happy and safe new year.
