Ann began her NASA career at the Glenn Research Center in 1983 after graduating from The Ohio State University. Her first job was on the Shuttle/Centaur project where she designed interplanetary trajectories for rockets. After working at NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C., she went on to manage several experiments on the Space Shuttle, including one that flew on the last flight of the Columbia. Ann also managed a successful communication technology project, launched by Japan to the International Space Station in 2012, completing its mission in 2019. She also served as Division Chief for the Glenn Space Science Office, including technologies to help explore the Earth and our solar system. From 2016-2019, she was the Deputy Program Manager of the European Service Module Integration Office, helping return humans to the moon and on to Mars.
Ann is certified by the Federal Acquisition Program as a Senior Expert Project Manager, is married, has three children and three grandchildren. She retired from NASA in 2019, but still follows NASA’s programs and is now the President of the Second Mile Outreach Nonprofit.
