  • September 2020 Events Coming Soon

I hope everyone had a pleasant, if hot, summer and is looking forward to cooler temperatures and traditional Fall activities. That would include your AIAA Phoenix Section getting back to hosting some activities. For the time being they will continue to be on-line and we are actually trying to take advantage of that. Section programming via Zoom means we can have guest speakers from anywhere in the country and attendees don’t need to drive to somewhere potentially on the other side of town.

We have some general plans for events in the next couple of months. You may have noticed a new columnist in the Aerospace America magazine, Moriba Jah, who is a noted expert in the field of space situational awareness. He has offered to be our first guest speaker, and we are working on a career planning event with the student branch at ASU, and a fun Young Professional event. Dates and times are still in work, but we hope to have these between now and the end of October.

We are still looking for input from you regarding ideas for programing. While we can’t plan on tours or in-person events for a while yet, do you want more technical presentations, career planning events, loosely run social hang-outs, or something else? Please let us know. We need to know what members would actually attend.

Keep an eye out for more email communications soon with details on these upcoming events. We are also looking for new people to get involved. If you would like to help or have suggestions, please contact us by replying to this email.

    Meanwhile stay safe out there.
