The Southwest Aerospace Symposium (SWAS) was held at UTA to encourage student participation and provide a quality venue at their new Engineering bldg. Presentations tended to be flight test oriented (but not all) since the Society of Flight Test Engineers (SFTE) and Society of Experimental Test Plots (SETP) were co-sponsors along with corporate sponsors Bell, the International Test Pilots School (ITPS) from Canada and Avian.
