Rocketry: General Updates: ❖ We started manufacturing! An initial layup for the upper section of our 2026 IREC vehicle was conducted. However, it will have to be redone due to poor quality. ❖ Conducted a tensile test of fiberglass samples and extracted in-plane material properties for use in structural analysis. ❖ CAD has been completed for all payload components and for most of the components of the subscale test vehicle. ❖ Developed a MATLAB and Simulink model that models the roll dynamics of the vehicle + roll control. ❖ Started tuning PID gains, ❖ There are about 15 people actively attending and working on the L1 program. This last weekend 3 members attended a launch in Oklahoma. There was one successful L1 launch and certification. Upcoming plans: ❖ ASAP ➢ Finalize selection of servos and prepare for upcoming assembly and launch of the subscale vehicle.. ❖ Manufacturing ➢ Upper tube layup will be redone. Preparations have begun for the coupler and lower tube layups. Next workdays: ❖ ASAP will focus on tuning PID to prepare for flight test, as well as working with the ES team to code PID and integrate electronics into the vehicle. ❖ Payload team is in the process of making the electronics bay.
