What does it take to land on the Moon? How are the choices of Launch Vehicle, Lander, and Industry Partners made? Please join us on Thursday, December 12 for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hear the behind-the-scenes story of SLS and Orion from AIAA's very own Dan Dumbacher, former NASA Deputy Associate Administrator for Exploration Systems 2010-2014.
Dan will discuss the systems analyses and how the decisions were made, leading to the initiation of the Space Launch System, the Orion capsule, and the Ground Systems efforts. These form the basis for what we now call the Artemis Program. He will provide insights and explanations, along with answering your questions, on how NASA put in place the foundation for returning humans to the moon and exploring beyond!
We will also have students from the Florida Institute of Technology presenting the latest on their rocket projects. We hope to see everyone there!
